Nollywood actress Adesua Etomi-Wellington recently joined other Twitter users to drag Lauretta Onochie, Social media aide to President Muhammadu Buhari.
Lauretta had posted a photo of children wearing face masks made from cardboard with a message that people should protect themselves from COVID-19.
In her tweet which she assumed was harmless, she encouraged Nigerians to emulate these children, as COVID-19 is not a punishment from the government.
See tweet below
WEARING A MASK IS NOT A POLITICAL STATEMENT.
ITS NOT PUNISHMENT BY GOVERNMENT
PROTECT YOURSELF.
🛑Wear one🛑These have made efforts with masking where those of us who are more vulnerable & susceptible to COVID-19 are still swearing that it’s a scam.
God bless their efforts pic.twitter.com/DDCHuHwMYS— Lauretta Onochie (@Laurestar) November 23, 2020
Her words did not go down well with Adesua Etomi-wellington and other Nigerians who believe the Presidential’s aide tweet went a long way to show the poverty level of the country. Adesua described Lauretta as a disgrace stating that she should concentrate on tackling poverty.
See tweet below
You are a disgrace. Both home & abroad. You should be ashamed that these children have to do this with cardboards. Instead of talking about how to tackle poverty so they can be protected adequately against the virus, you’re spewing this nonsense. 😡😡😡 https://t.co/JV04N0LUfm

Meanwhile, this will not be the first time Lauretta Onochie will be dragged by a Nigerian celebrity. Early October, Wizkid had lashed out at President Buhari over his attitude to the plight of his people as he called for an end to police brutality.
Lauretta in the President’s defence took to her Twitter page on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, where she slammed the music star for addressing the president as an old man, describing Wizkid as a “Dumbboy”.
