While the series is still in its early stages of development, there are juicy details that we have gleaned from the internet that will tickle your fancy. First, the series would be a live-action instead of animation, as Sony Pictures Television Studios president Katherine Pope revealed to Deadline.

It will be based on the story of the 2018 God of War reboot. The synopsis mentions that the series begins after Kratos’ wife passes and follows his ‘dangerous journey’ to spread her ashes from the highest peak, accompanied by his son.
For now, there is no news on the cast but we have been seeing fans pitch several people who they believe fit the character and stature of Kratos online. Also, there is no release date in sight but the series will be streaming in more than 240 countries when it airs.
Another good news for fans is that Cory Barlog, who directed God of War (2018) and God of War: Ragnarök (2022) is an executive producer of the series.
The video game joins a host of others which are being converted to TV and we just can’t contain our excitement and hope it lives up to expectations.
