Cook also reveals that the first delivery of Apple face shields was to Kaiser hospital facilities in Santa Clara. He says Apple had been working with governments around the world to distribute the face masks where they are most needed.
“Our first shipment was delivered to Kaiser hospital facilities in the Santa Clara Valley this past week and the feedback from doctors was very positive,” he said.
“For Apple, this is a labor of love and gratitude and we will share more of our efforts over time,” Cook added.
Cook says that Apple would ship 1 million units by the end of the week. Additionally, it also expects to ship 1 million face shields weekly, with the intention to distribute beyond the United States. He says that Apple’s face shield design allows packing a hundred pieces in a box. The box can also be put together in two minutes.
