Reports from 9To5Mac show that Apple may have discounted the Beats Pill Plus speaker, as it no longer appears in either Apple’s or Beats Websites. The last available wireless battery speaker sold by Apple was the first product from the acquisition of Beats.
It was first released in 2015 after Apple bought Beats for $3 billion in 2014, which is a product of engineering genius and finishing from Apple. Since then Apple has gone on to update the Beats lineup of headphones especially the Beats buds, Fit Pro and Powerbeats.
Apple even went ahead to integrate its technology, Siri software and H1 chips in some of these headphones. But interestingly, the Beats Pill didn’t get a refresh or compatibility with Apple’s technology.

Instead, the Cupertino based company released the HomePod and the smaller HomePod mini, which went on to replace the Beats Pill Plus speaker. The Beats Pill Plus is the only successor to the original Beats Pill speaker.
After the release of the premium HomePod speakers, the full-size HomePod albeit having great sound quality got criticism for its $349 price tag. Apple reduced the price to $299 in April 2019, and launched the HomePod mini in 2020, selling it at $99.
The continued poor sales of the HomePod speaker led to its public discounting in March 2021. Since then Apple has prioritised selling the HomePod mini. Although the full-size HomePod had great sound quality, it got criticism for its $349 price tag during its launch. Apple reduced the price to $299 in April 2019, and launched the HomePod mini in 2020, selling it at $99.
