Apple has begun shipping its new MacBook Pro laptops and desktop Mac Mini today, a week after it unveiled the devices alongside powerful M2 Pro and M2 Max chips.

There are two new MacBook Pros, one has a 14-inch display and the other has a 16-inch screen. They will both sport either the M2 Pro or M2 Max chips, making them the most powerful laptops the company has to offer.
Meanwhile, the new Mac Mini will feature an M2 or the M2 Pro chips.

According to Apple’s sales page for the new MacBook Pro, the M2 Max supercharged 14-inch machine is 15.9 times faster than its previous Intel-based MacBook Pro and the one with the M2 Pro is 11.6 times faster when video transcoding in Final Cut Pro. As for the 16-inch variant, it is 9.4 times and 7 times faster than the previous Intel-based MacBook Pro when equipped with the M2 Max and M2 Pro, respectively.
As for the Mac Mini, it is 4.7 times faster than the Intel-based Mac Mini when running on M2 Pro and 3.5 times faster using the power of the M2 chip to edit photo in Photoshop.
As mentioned when announcing the chips earlier in January 2023, Apple is targeting professionals who need computers that can handle heavy usage and not break a sweat.
While the new MacBook Pro 14 inches has an 18-hour video playback battery, the 16-inch variant can last up to 22 hours. For web browsing, they offer 12 hours and 15 hours, respectively.
The new Mac Mini is going for $599 in the US for between 8GB to 32GB RAM and 256GB to 8TB storage. As for the MacBook Pro, you can get them for anything from $1999 and they offer 16GB to 96GB RAM/unified memory and 512GB to 8TB storage.
According to GSMArena.com, people who pre-ordered the devices are already beginning to receive them in the US, Europe, and India. It is shipping to a total of 27 countries, the media outlet said.
