Asus has launched ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro gaming smartphones, and the first reactions are just how impressive they look and their specs.
In theory, the ROG Phone brand is entirely focused on gaming, and in practice, the company has lived up to expectations. Its latest offerings are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, which runs the premium Samsung Galaxy S22 series. Also, to store more games and info, they have 512GB of memory space (although it was rumoured that it would be up to 1TB).
The ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro 6.78-inch OLED screens are wide enough to give a top-tier gaming experience and still make the phone hands-friendly, which is important because it comes with a rather bulky clip-on cooling gadget. The displays have a 165Hz refresh rate and 720Hz touch-sampling rate, making them more responsive and fit for reflex-reliant games.
In the power department, a 6,000mAh battery powers the phones, and Asus claims that you can charge the phone from 0 to 100 in 42 minutes with the 65W charging capability!

While its camera is not the essential part of this phone, it still packs the flagship Sony IMX766 50 MP main wide-angle camera. There is an ultrawide 13MP second camera and macro sensor to give it good image quality and HDR processing. The selfie cam is a 12MP shooter, which makes it effective for people who want to create YouTube content later.
Let’s not forget that it comes with a powerful 18GB RAM that will ensure that the smartphone never lags while playing heavy games. It supports nine distinctive kinds of controls, as shown below:
ROG Phone 6 will have a starting price of €999 (NGN 426,000) and the ROG Phone 6 Pro will cost about €1,299 (NGN 540,000). They will first be available in the UK and other European countries first before they come to the US, India and other locations.
Will you be splashing on what could be the best gaming phone of 2022?
