Bafta Games Awards 2019: UK’s Biggest Gaming Night

The annual Bafta Games Awards took place at a glamorous ceremony in Central London on 4th March 2019. Gaming enthusiasts now have refreshed validity of their favourite games. It was the 15th edition of the annual award event.

 

The sales of video games and other related products in the UK have gone up by 10% to about £5.7 billion the last year.

 

The most coveted award of the night, the Best Game prize, went to the action-adventure game, God of War. The game is about ancient mythology god Kratos, the former Greek god of war and his son, Atreus.

 

 

The award for the best evolving game went to controversial survival game, Fortnite.

 

Red Dead Redemption 2 had six nominations. However, the UK-made adventure game did not win any prize. The nominations were Audio Achievement, Best Game, British Game of the year, Award for Performer, Award for artistic achievement and the award for narrative.

 

Toys to life concept game by Nintendo, Labo, won two awards. It took home the prize for best family game and innovation.

  • Performer: Jeremy Davies, God of War
  • Best British Game: Forza Horizon 4
  • Game Beyond Entertainment: My Child Lebensborn
  • Mobile Game of the Year (Audience Vote): Old School Runescape
  • Best Game: God of War
