Popular comedian Basketmouth has apologised for the joke that got him off the European Union (EU). The EU released a list of its ambassadors when an activist called Basketmouth out over a joke he said that promotes r*pe.
The joke stated that men can r*pe women who refuse to sleep with them after the second date. With this joke, he was dropped as an ambassador for the campaign against S*xual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV).
The British Council, in their response, stated that the campaign rests on one of the core principles of the EU. This principle entails zero tolerance for all abuse against women.
After they dropped him as an ambassador of the EU, the comedian took to his Instagram page to tender an apology to his fans.
The comedian took to his Instagram page on Monday, December 2, 2019. He shared photos of the women who according to him are the most important people in his life.

With this apology, we do not know if the British Council plans on reinstating him as an ambassador. In your opinion should Basketmouth be reinstated by the EU since he has publicly apologised? Or should he be judged over a joke he shared years ago?
