Bethesda players can start migrating from its game launcher to Steam starting April 27

Bethesda has announced that players are to bein migrating from its game launcher to Steam starting April 27, 2022.

Bethesda –maker of popular games such as FalloutDOOMDishonoredSkyrimWolfenstein, and The Elder Scrolls– has told players to get ready to migrate to Steam and abandon its Bethesda Launcher. The in-game virtual currency will also be moved to Steam.

Migration will start on April 27, and from May 11, 2022, players will no longer be able to play games from the Bethesda.net launcher. However, apart from that, the publisher assures users that they will have enough time to do other things like migrating their library to their Steam account.

Additionally, Bethesda.net will still be working for games that require manual save transfers, and users can still access the page from the company’s website. Games that were exclusively available on the company’s game launcher will also now be available on the Steam launcher.

It also launched a FAQ page to deal with inquiries about the migration and a separate one for Fallout 76.

One surprising thing is that Microsoft now owns the gaming company after it bought its owners ZeniMax, yet, Bethesda still does not support Xbox (nor any other console or PC service). One would expect that Microsoft would have seized the opportunity to move players under its umbrella with the Microsoft Store launcher with this mandatory migration.
