Bill and Melinda French Gates, are officially divorced.
The now ex-couple who are co-founders of one of the world’s largest private charitable foundations has officially divorced after a judge approved their split. They had filed for divorce on 3rd May 2021 after 27 years of marriage.
Bill and Melinda had while announcing their divorce reached an agreement on how to divide their marital assets.
But according to Reuters, there were no details of that agreement in the final divorce order filed before the court. It added that the court did not issue money, property, or spousal support judgments in the divorce.
The court records also showed that neither party will change their name or receive “spousal support,” as reported by Bloomberg.

The duo has been at the forefront of major philanthropic activities worldwide through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. They have pledged to continue working together on the foundation.
“They have repeatedly made clear their joint commitment and expectation to remain long-term partners and co-chairs. However, as an additional step, they have agreed that if after two years either one of them decides that they cannot continue to work together, Melinda will resign as co-chair and trustee.” the note by Mark Suzman, the foundation CEO, read.
Bill Gates and Melinda met in 1987 and were married in 1994. Their foundation was launched in 2000.
