Peter and Paul Okoye of the now-defunct P-Square group turned a year older today. These musicians of the P-Square made growing up beautiful with their songs that were back-to-back hits.

The duo released their first album, titled “Last Nite”, in 2003. Timbuk2 music label also produced the album. P-Square and their older brother, Jude Engees Okoye, produced the album under the label, sponsored by Benson and Hedges.

Psquare released six albums together, with the last being “Double Trouble” which they released in 2014. In celebrating these singers on their birthday, Plat4om put together a throwback on five top P-Square songs that totally blew our minds.

1. Bizzy Body

“Bizzy Body” was a hit single on the “Get Squared” album released in 2005. The video of the song was on another level. There were young boys and girls dancing in the club, with P-Square giving us their fire dance steps. This duo was our own version of America’s Usher Raymond.

2. Do Me

This song was the hit single in the “Game Over” album, released in 2007. “Do Me” features vocals from super talented singer Waje. The music video for the single was also shot in South Africa by Jude Engees Okoye.

3. Roll It

This song also featured in the “Game Over” album.”Roll It” was produced by Northside Entertainment, featuring recording artist Alaye. The music video for “Roll It” was also shot and directed by Jude Engees Okoye.

4. Senorita

Senorita was a major single in the “Last Nite” album. The song featured a music video directed by Jude Engees Okoye. The song received the most airplay from the album and showcased the duo’s epic dancing skills.

5. Get Squared

This song, named after the album, was released in 2015. The song is a mixture of RnB and Hip Hop. The video also featured the artiste doing the breakdance steps they were known for.

Up until their split in 2017, P-Square, as they were fondly called, were the biggest musical group in Africa.

Things went sour in 2017 after the two fell apart. From Instagram post to videos, the twins dragged each other for a while, leaving millions of their fans in shock as their relationship degenerated.

After both going solo, they both started releasing singles. Peter now goes by the name, Mr P, while Paul is Rudeboy. Rudeboy’s “Nkenji Keke” and “Reality” racked up a respectable 11 million YouTube views respectively. This is in contrast to Mr P, whose songs found comparatively less success with “Cool It Down” (5.1.views) and “Ebeano” (4.7 million views).

We wish P-Square would bury the hatchet, come back together and deliver another album with classic songs. Nevertheless, happy birthday to Peter and Paul Okoye.
