Cardi B‘s major-label debut single “Bodak Yellow” has been certified diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America.
This makes Cardi the first female rapper to have a certified diamond song. It means that “Bodak Yellow” has earned10 million units. According to the RIAA, one equivalent song unit is equal to a single digital song sale; or 150 on-demand audio and/or video streams.
Cardi B’s Bodak Yellow reached the milestone on Monday 8th March. Also, her hit collaboration “WAP”, featuring Megan Thee Stallion, is halfway there. “WAP” had reached 5x multi-platinum status as of March 3, according to the RIAA website.

Cardi posted a video explaining how her label Atlantic Records surprised her with the plaque at a restaurant after a long, exhausting day of rehearsal. “I just want to say thank you guys so much because, without you guys, it wouldn’t have happened,” she told the Bardi Gang. “It really made my day. And it really uplifted me.”

Cardi B is a Grammy award-winning musician who has earned three number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100. She released “Bodak Yellow” in June 2017. It then went on to become the lead single from her debut studio album, “Invasion of Privacy”.
