The legendary singer had completed the first leg of her 2019 album “Courage” in 2020 before the pandemic broke out worldwide.

The second leg of the “Courage” tour — which is her 12th English Language album— was billed for 2021 but was later rescheduled to hold between March 9 and April 22, 2022.

However, Dion in a statement shared on her social media on Saturday, January 15, 2022, said she would not be able to go on tour as she’s still sick from “severe and persistent muscle spasms”.

The statement also said that “her recovery is taking longer than she hoped,” adding that “her medical team continues to evaluate and treat the condition.”

“Tickets purchased with a credit card through authorised ticketing outlets will be refunded automatically to the credit card used for purchase,” it read.

“Ticket holders of the cancelled performances will soon receive an email notification with more information.”

Speaking on her health, Celine Dion, 53, said she’s eager to get back on stage but will have to be patient.

“I was really hoping that I’d be good to go by now, but I suppose I just have to be more patient and follow the regimen that my doctors are prescribing,” Dion said.

“There’s a lot of organising and preparation that goes into our shows, and so we have to make decisions today which will affect the plans two months down the road.

“I’ll be so glad to get back to full health, as well as all of us getting past this pandemic, and I can’t wait to be back on stage again.”

The singer and mom of three also thanked her fans for their love and their encouragement in these trying times.

“Meanwhile, I’ve been very touched by all the words of encouragement that everyone’s been sending to me on social media. I feel your love ands and it means the world to me,” she added.
