Charles Okpaleke, the co-founder of Play Network Africa, has announced the sequel of a popular 1994’s film titled “Glamour Girls”.

 

Charles is the executive producer of “Living In Bondage: Breaking Free”  which has grossed over 140 Million since it hit the cinemas.

 

Okpaleke confirmed his decision to finance the making of the film’s sequel saying, “One down! On to the next! We can’t stop.”

 

 

 

This comes after Charles Okpaleke’s investment in “Living in Bondage: Breaking Free” yielded over ₦140 million within the first few weeks of its release in cinemas.

 

“Glamour Girls” is a film that tells the story of a village girl whose friends influenced into prostitution in Lagos.

 

The film features veteran actors and actresses such as Liz Benson, Zack Orji, Eucharia Anunobi, Sola Fosudo, amongst others. The film was produced by Kenneth Nnebue’s NEK limited. He is also the executive producer of 1992 classic, “Living in Bondage”.

 

At the premiere of “Living In Bondage: Breaking Free” Okpalaeke revealed why he decided to acquire the intellectual property right of the film.

“’Living In Bondage’ is the single most compelling, most consequential movie franchise in the history of the Nigerian film industry. It is the movie which, in 1992, birthed the Nigerian movie industry that is today universally known as Nollywood; an industry that is now the world’s second-largest, most prolific film industry.

 

“I came with the idea to Ramsey some years ago because the film means a lot to so many people and seeing the reactions of the guests at the premiere shows the impact that this movie continues to have over 2 decades later – we have told a great story, with plenty to learn from with this sequel and it’s a must-watch.”
