Comedienne Chigul Narrates How She Was Advised to Save Her Failed Marriage

Top Nigerian comedienne Chioma Omeruah, aka Chigul, has recounted how she was advised to save her failed marriage with a child.

In 2017, the actress and singer revealed she was once married. She also said the union crashed after just one year.

Reacting to a recent Instagram post on marriage by Elsie Okpocha, the estranged wife of Basketmouth, Chigul recalled how she was urged to have a child to save her union from crashing.

Elsie had advised women not to rush into marriage until they are ready.

“You need to understand that if a woman is not married, it’s because she is probably taking her time or she hasn’t met the right person because you do not want to rush into this institution called marriage in the name of wanting to get married on time and end up rushing out because marriage can be tough,” Elsie had said.

In the comment section, Chigirl said she was shocked when someone asked her to give birth to a child in order to save her marriage.

 

“Someone told me… ‘just borne one hold am’… I was like are we playing cards… hold am Kwa! Hiahnnn! #nigeriansaresoforward,” she wrote.

Chigurl has in the last few years built a career as a comedienne, actress, and singer. The 46-year-old got married in 2013. However, the marriage crashed within a year.
