COVID-19: Will Nigerians Comply With The No Church Directive In Lagos?

To curb the spread of COVID-19, the Government of Lagos and Ogun state had put a ban on gatherings. Social gatherings that exceed 50 persons including church and Muslim Friday prayers are cancelled.

 

Churches with an online presence already reached out to its members, stating how to adjust to this new reality.

 

Some told their members that they will be live on social media like Facebook and YouTube live. There they can tune in and have service online.

 

Furthermore, some churches have decided to turn their home fellowship centres to places of worship. Here two or more families can gather for service.

Also, there are churches that have decided to split their services to accommodate people. This means they will have people entering the church auditorium in batches.

 

Already there are 26 confirmed cases in Nigeria, and everyone is just being careful. Believing God, and having faith that researchers will come up with a cure for COVID-19 now referred to as a global pandemic.

 

One thing that will definitely happen today will be prayers against the spread of COVID-19 in Nigeria. Nigerians are very religious people and when they gather at a time, you expect heaven to come down.
