CD Projekt Red is still battling with the numerous bugs riddling its Cyberpunk 2077 game and the just-released 1.06 hotfix aims at keeping your PC save files from getting irrevocably corrupted when they grow larger than 8MB in size.

The hotfix will also bring “fewer crashes” to the game due to “improved memory management and stability”. Also, a  character within the game named Dum Dum will no longer vanish in the middle of a quest.

Below is the full changelog for the Cyberpunk 2077 1.06 hotfix for PC and console;

— Quests: Dum Dum will no longer go missing from Totentanz entrance during the Second Conflict.

— Console-specific: Improved memory management and stability, resulting in fewer crashes.

— PC-specific: Removed the 8 MB save file size limit. Note: this won’t fix save files corrupted before the update.

On 13th December 2020, CD Projekt Red promised “two large patches” in January and February 2021 to address its bad performance on PS4 and Xbox One. It also said it would issue updates to fix bugs and crashes as quickly as possible.

The game got a 1.04 patch addressing epilepsy risks on 11th December and on 18th December, a 1.05 patch tackling loads some bugs with the 1.06 patch as the most recent patch.

CD Projekt Red offered refunds to players who were disappointed with their purchase of the game. However, the game has still recorded a lot of success despite this. Cyberpunk 2077 has sold over 13 million copies even if you subtract the refunds, that huge.
