Reggae / Dance Hall Queen Cynthia Morgan is back in the news and her fans on Twitter are ready to support her this time.

The “German juice” singer who now goes by the name Madrina has given her side of the story explaining her disappearance from the music industry.

In a live Instagram session, the Edo state born singer revealed that her travails started when her contract ended due to some legal issues, and shortly after that she took ill.

She had to relocate to Benin to cut medical costs when she realized she was not recovering as the illness almost claimed her life, causing her to spend almost a year in recovery.

By the time it was over she had finished all her savings from music on hospital bills. She fell into a deep depression, refused to share her pain with anyone, and decided to hide away in Benin city; broken and embarrassed.

Twitter users were quick to call out Jude Okoye, the record label boss for the manner with which he treated Cynthia.

Some blamed Nigerian artistes not reading their contracts and allowing music labels to use and dump them, citing May D and Kizz Daniel as examples.

Others have taken it upon themselves to assist the singer through a Gofundme account as they called on artistes such as Burna Boy to help revive her career.
