Stress is generally considered as being synonymous with distress and dictionaries defined it as “physical, mental, or emotional strain or tension”. This is different for everyone. What stresses you out may not even bother your best friend and vice versa.

Stress is a normal part of life. You can experience it from your environment, your body, and your thoughts. But chronic stress causes wear and tear on your body, too. However, a person who is undergoing stress will likely see its symptoms, and mind you being tired and unwilling to work isn’t just the only symptom.

Below are some symptoms of stress that shows on your skin.

  1. Oily Skin: It can up your body’s oil production
  2. Dry Skin: Loss of water from your skin can be as a result of stress worsening of existing conditions
  3. Conditions like eczema Psoriasis and Rosacea can worsen.
  4. Slow Healing: Cuts and scrapes may stick longer
  5. Rashes: It can cause redness of the skin or small red bumps that may itch
  6. Hives: Swollen red bumps that may itch or burn could be a side effect
  7. Acne: Stress may be the reason for your breakout
  8. Cold sores: Small blisters in and around the mouth can be stress-induced.

 

Watch out for these symptoms on your skin, your body will always give you signs. Please take a break and rest. You should also see your doctor for medical advice and prescriptions to help your body bounce back.

 

Getting enough sleep, eating healthy and take breaks from time to time is also very good for the body.
