FCC Filing From Nintendo Shows A New Controller For Its Console

Reports say Nintendo may have filed an FCC listing for a new wireless controller, this mysterious device has a model HAC-043 numbering. This filling was sent to the FCC on July 26th with a 180-day confidentiality request.

Some aspects of the device are not shown, so that means more parts might unveil in the coming months. The new wireless device will be using Bluetooth for connectivity, which is a welcome improvement.

Nintendo recently announced that it is enabling Bluetooth audio support for its switch consoles through a software update. Gamers have not been able to use Bluetooth headphones for audio since the console launch in 2017.

Nintendo Switch finally gets Bluetooth audio support - Opera News

While it’s an improvement on Nintendo’s part, there are certain limitations. For example, the consoles don’t yet support Bluetooth microphones. The new Bluetooth software update also limits users to using just two wireless controllers with a Bluetooth headset in use.

Right there in the settings menu is a new section that shows “Bluetooth Audio.” Users can easily pair their headphones from the instructions on display. This new update is also known as version 13.00.

Nintendo gamers have found ways to bypass the Bluetooth audio mess. Alternatively, users were using Bluetooth audio adapters.  There are other restrictions are shown on its support page.

The new wireless controller might just release with the new OLED Nintendo Switch arriving in October.
