Bluetooth headsets are now a thing. It’s the new neck and ear accessory for most people because of how convenient it is. However, the small size of the earbuds can make it impossible to find. There is also a feature that shows how much battery your earbuds use.

Google says a new update will inform users of the battery life of their Bluetooth earbuds. The users of the Fast Pair Bluetooth will get some new features later in 2019. The update will include more information about battery life with a Find My Device feature.

In fact, users will be able to see the battery life of their Bluetooth headsets on their devices. Owners of the True Wireless Stereo headphones will be able to see the percentage of battery on each earbud. These users will also get notifications when they reach certain percentages.

Find my device

The earbuds come with a Find My Device compatibility that allows Fast Pair users to see the location of their devices. It will also show the last time the earbud was used and where it was used. There is also a feature where users can sort of call their devices to make it easier to find them. (If only remote controls had this feature!)

Airpods

Likewise, Apple is doing a similar feature on iPhones with the Airpods. iPhone users are able to ping their Bluetooth Airpods and show battery life percentages for the device and its case. As common to Apple fashion, non-Apple Bluetooth devices are not able to be searched on the iPhone. They cannot also get their battery details on non-Apple earbuds.

Interestingly, these features are ones that have been well thought out. A major concern with the earbuds has been the ease of misplacement. Therefore, creating a way of finding it easier is a smart update feature.
