We finally get to see official LG Velvet specifications directly from the company itself after several weeks of speculations and leaks.
On LG’s website, the company made some stunning revelations concerning its coming Velvet smartphone. As last week’s design reveal confirmed, the smartphone will have a new unique look.
The edges are finished off in symmetric curves while the three rear cameras are arranged vertically from the largest to the smallest. This design is termed “raindrops”.
LG Velvet’s 6.8-inch OLED screen is bordered at the top and the bottom by an equal measure of bezels. This is unlike we have seen in many recent smartphones where manufacturers erase the top bezels to almost nothing and compensate with more bottom space.
Also, the 16MP selfie camera comes in a small cut-out notch at the center of the phone. Its leading camera is a 48MP machine with an 8MP (wide-angle) assistant. It has a depth of field measurement sensor that has 5MP capabilities.

In addition, the website mentioned that the smartphone has a video feature called Voice Out Focus. This can separate background noise from major voices when shooting videos. This, coupled with an ASMR recording function and Time Lapse mode will give videos better sound quality.
A Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 processor powers the LG Velvet, thus, users get 5G network support.
In terms of storage, it uses 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM. This storage capacity can be extended with a MicroSD card (but it does not mention limits).
Another impressive specification of the LG Velvet is its 4,300 mAh battery capacity. This phone allows for 10W wireless charging and supports USB-C wired charging. Curiously, the wired charging capacity is not mentioned.
After its 6th May launch, it will be available for purchase by 15th May. There is no information on its prices yet. But, since it was announced with a promise of affordable pricing, it will likely be within the $300 to $400 range.
