Amazon is already working on a miniseries about crypto exchange platform FTX and its former CEO Sam Bankman-Fried.
According to a report by Variety, the project has the film company AGBO, owned by the Russo brothers, on board. You may remember the Russo brothers (Anthony and Joe) fondly for their work on Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. In addition, writer of fantasy mini-series Solos, David Weil, has been convinced to take up writing duties.
“We are excited to be able to continue our great working relationship with David, Joe, Anthony, and the AGBO team with this fascinating event series,” Amazon Studios head, Jennifer Salke, said in a statement. “I can’t think of better partners to bring this multifaceted story to our global Prime Video audience.”

Although there is no release date in sight, the media outlet claimed that production would start in spring 2023. Amazon would rely on insider reports and journalists to build the character of the disgraced FTX CEO. There is not mention of Bankman-Fried himself being involved with the project. However, some Marvel actors could take up key roles as the Russos have worked with many of them before.
The brothers called the case one of the most brazen frauds ever committed. “It crosses many sectors—celebrity, politics, academia, tech, criminality, s*x, dr*gs, and the future of modern finance. At the center of it all sits an extremely mysterious figure with complex and potentially dangerous motivations. We want to understand why,” they said.
The FTX miniseries is just one of the few projects covering shady tech industry characters. Netflix just released one that covers late antivirus billionaire, John McAfee, and The Dropout, which focuses on convicted Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes, is streaming on Disney+.
