Nollywood actress, director and producer Funke Akindele has revealed only married her ex-husband due to pressure.
The “Omo Ghetto” actress’ first marriage to Oshodi businessman Alhaji Adeola Kehinde Oloyede in 2012 lasted barely one year and ended in a whirlwind.
Akindele in an interview with Chude Jideonwo in #JustChude show revealed she felt pressured to marry and have kids.
“You know, I just wanted to get married. I want to do things right, have children and all that. And I went into the (first) marriage, it didn’t work fine. And it ended in a very bad way, in social media, the noise was everywhere,” she said.
“I was actually filming and somebody called me and told me, I wanted to die! You know I cried, lost some good deals then. But I didn’t let it break me.”

Akindele’s marriage to Oloyode, an Oshodi businessman came as a surprise to many. Not only did they not run in the same social circles, but they were also rumours that he had more than a penchant for womanising.
The rumors trailed their engagement announcement into their marriage as new information about his fathering several children with different women continued to surface.
Things came to a dramatic hilt when Oloyode took to his Facebook page to announce the end of his marriage to the actress, 413 days after their wedding.
However, Funke Akindele found love again and married singer of the defunct 419 Squad, JJC Skillz in 2016.
They have a set of twins together while Skillz has three children from three other baby mamas.
