On 17 March 2022, Samsung introduced the Galaxy A73 5G, A53 5G, and A33 5G smartphones at its Galaxy A Event; see specs and features of the new devices here.
While each of the new A series smartphones announced has the regular versions, interests in the 5G variants are high right now. Let’s look at what makes them standout:
Samsung Galaxy A73 5G
With a Super AMOLED panel of 6.7 inches paired with FHD+ resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate, Samsung Galaxy A73 5G sets itself apart as the largest A series device in the lineup.
While its 5G connectivity capability is already a big selling point for smartphone users looking for next-gen network potential, it may not be unique, seeing that it is not the only Android device in the market offering it.
Yet, its 6/8 GB RAM and 128/256 GB storage pairing is an advantage, and Samsung adds that the storage can be increased with a microSD of 1 TB!
In the camera department, Samsung Galaxy A73 5G brings a main lens of 108 MP and an f/1.8 lens. However, it notably does not have a telephoto lens. Instead, a 12 MP ultra-wide camera, a 5 MP macro cam, and a 5 MP depth sensor replace it. The selfie camera is a lone 32 MP lens.
There is nothing unique about the 5,000mAh battery and 25W charging, which the preceding A72 devices offered. As for pricing, that will be determined later when the company starts selling it on 22 April.

Samsung Galaxy A53 5G
Relatively more popular than the higher-spec A73 5G, Samsung’s latest offering, the A53 5G, is a superstar in the making. Likely because of its more one-hand-friendly 6.5-inch size, the smartphone is dominating search trends. In terms of specs, there is really not that sets it apart.
It is more of a middle child with the same Super AMOLED, FHD+ resolution, and 120 Hz refresh rate display mentioned above. And a lesser powerful main camera of 64 MP lens, f/1.8 lens, 12 MP ultra-wide lens, a 5 MP macro camera, and a 5 MP depth sensor.
Samsung Galaxy A53 5G also offers a battery capacity of 5,000mA and 25W charging capacity.
It appears that the appeal for this device is in the price, as GSM Arena reports that the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G 6GB/128GB storage device will cost about $450, and the 8G/256GB storage variants will cost $510. In addition to this, there is an offer of getting free pair of Galaxy Buds Live for people who pre-order starting from March 17.
Samsung Galaxy A33 5G
The Samsung Galaxy A33 5G is the least popular among the lineup, although it is not a bad midrange device when you consider that it will sell for around $370.
While it features a slightly smaller display of 6.4 inches, the capabilities are only different in that it only manages to have a 90 Hz refresh rate. In the camera department, it packs a 48 MP sensor and an f/1.8 lens as its main shooter, which works with a 5 MP macro lens and 2 MP depth sensor.
Additionally, it brings the same memory pairing option of 6/8 GB RAM and 128/256 GB storage. Its battery capacity is also 5,000mAh as well.
Across the board, there are only slight differences between the Samsung smartphones announced at the Samsung A Event 2022, as this summary of specs will show:
