Google has announced in a tweet that it will not end its unlimited calls Meet users at the end of March 2021. Instead, it is pushing forward the reintroduction of the 60-minute limit to 30th June 2021.
Till then, free Meet users will be able to host calls for up to 24 hours non-stop. Google calls these types of calls “unlimited”.
Google is pushing back the introduction of call limits since opening up the service to free users in April 2020 for the second time. The 60-minute limit had initially been due to be reintroduced at the end of September 2020. However, Google pushed forward the deadline to March because COVID-19 had changed the way we usually celebrated holidays.

Google hasn’t revealed why it’s extending the deadline unlimited calls on Meet this time, however, it could be attributed to the current pandemic restrictions in place around the world and the fact that many offices are still operating remotely.
Google Meet lets you add up to 100 participants to each of your calls and the participants don’t even need to have the Google Meet app available on their devices to sign in. They can also join the call via their Web browser. After 28th June, free users will have only a one-hour limit for each group call. However, there is the option to move to a paid plan for the same 24-hour group calling functionality.
