It seems like Google is giving up on competing in the device business. A spokesperson from the company confirmed that Google recently halted the production of two unreleased tablet devices. They also say they will not come out with a new Pixelbook Slate.

The company says will now shift focus to the Pixelbook laptop line. Google will also no longer make their own tablet devices. They say they are now focusing on Chrome OS laptops and they will continue support for the Pixel Slate.

Meanwhile, the news got to Google employees on Wednesday, 19th June 2019. The employees working on the tablets were about 20 in number. They have now been asked to find new roles within the country. The company subsequently advised most of the employees to transfer to work on the Pixelbook laptop line.

The new Google Pixel is only just making waves in the market. Hopefully, it will be a real crowd-pleaser.
