Google Launches 14 Days Doodle Series Appreciating COVID-19 Helpers

Google has announced that it is launching a Doodle series thanking individuals who are helping out in these COVID-19 times. This series will run for the next two weeks.

 

9to5Google which broke the news mentions that the Google Doodle series is aimed at praising the efforts that people are putting effort into helping others during the pandemic.

 

In a tweet, the company announced that it is starting the series today 6th April 2020. It had also included a GIF of what the first one looks like as it tweeted:

While “public health workers and researchers in the scientific community” are the first to receive praise, there will be others targeting other relevant individuals.

 

A statement, credited to Google on who else will get their own specially designed ‘thank you’ Doodles over the next days, reads:

 

“Over the next two weeks, our Doodles will honor other essential frontline workers, including healthcare workers, first responders, and the many people keeping services like sanitation, food service, public transit, schools, and more up and running. Thank you to all the people who are working to save lives and keep communities safe during this pandemic.”

 

The search engine giant like many other tech companies has been using all avenue at its disposal to help in the fight against COVID-19. It had launched a special COVID-19 website and is using location history to quantify the pandemic’s impact in 131 countries.

 

 

It had launched an emotional video to also appreciate health workers on 29th March 2020. Google has been using Doodles to encourage people to stay at home by suggesting healthy activities they can engage in until COVID-19 is eradicated.
