For those who missed those Snipes, Blade is a half-human, half-immortal vampire hunter who stalks supernatural threats throughout the Marvel Comics Universe.
Blade was originally played by Wesley Snipes in 1998. It was based on a character of the same name in the Marvel Comics. However, Feige wanted to do something different and “awesome” since Marvel Studios acquired the rights in 2013.
Feige revealed that he first had Mahershala Ali in mind for the role. But Ali was not yet ready for the Blade reboot. This was because he was booked and busy for a long time.
Feige said he was flattered when the two time Academy Award winner eventually came to him directly for the role of Blade. He, in fact, he described it as “the greatest experience ever”.
Feige announced a bunch of upcoming Phase four film and series. and Blade will be one of them. Although Marvel is yet to announce a release date, it will definitely be an exciting and inspiring project.
