The hacking group behind recent hackings of NFL teams and other prominent Twitter accounts are at it again. The Twitter accounts of the Olympics and FC Barcelona were compromised on 15th February 2020 by the group called OurMine.

A Twitter spokesperson confirmed to Business Insider that the Olympics and FC Barcelona accounts were compromised via a “third-party platform.”

“As soon as we were made aware of the issue, we locked the compromised accounts and are working closely with our partners to restore them,” Twitter’s spokesperson said.

A spokesperson for the IOC confirmed the hack.

“The IOC can confirm that it is investigating a potential breach into some of its social accounts,” a spokesperson for the International Olympic Committee said in a statement.

FC Barcelona also confirmed the hack in a tweet on 15th February 2020.

The post also had a link to an email address and the group’s website. In which it asked users to contact the group to “improve your account’s security”.

The screenshots were captured by several accounts with a post also claiming responsibility on the IOC twitter account.

OurMine, which consists of 5 people, told Business Insider it chooses its targets at random. The group also confirms using a third-party app to access the accounts.
