Last night was the MTV VMAs, and we have talked about basically everything but the actual awards. Here are the different categories of the MTV Video Music Awards and the winners!
1. Video of the Year and Video for Good – Taylor Swift, “You Need to Calm Down”
The pop icon further pushed for her petition to be signed.
2. Artist of the Year – Ariana Grande
The artist was on tour overseas, unable to accept the award herself.
3. Song of the Year and Best Direction – Lil Nas X ft Billy Ray Cyrus, “Old Town Road (Remix)”
And as usual, Lil Nas X trolled the audience with a very long acceptance scroll.
4. Best New Artist and Push Artist of the Year – Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish accepted both awards via a pre-recorded video.
5. Best Collaboration – Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello, “Senorita”
The Latinx couple accepted the award and told fans to get wasted.
6. Best Pop – Jonas Brothers, “Sucker”
The long-awaited brother-band reunion was adequately awarded.
7. Best Hip-Hop – Cardi B, “Money”
And she expressed her desire to direct more videos.
8. Best R&B Video – Normani ft 6lack, “Waves”
Normani bagged an award at the MTV VMAs for this intergalactic collaboration.
9. Best K-Pop – BTS ft Halsey, “Boy With Luv”
10. Best Latin – Rosalia and J Balvin ft El Guincho, “Con Altura”
11. Best Rock Award – Panic! At The Disco, “High Hopes”
12. Best Group Award – BTS
13. Best Power Anthem – Megan Thee Stallion ft Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla Sign, “Hot Girl Summer”
Summer may be over, but there’s never a bad time to be a hot girl.
14. Song of the Summer – Ariana Grande and Social House, “Boyfriend”
The song was apparently a subtle hint at the pair being in a casual relationship.
15. Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award – Missy Elliott
And we are so happy for her. No one deserves this award more than Missy Elliott.
