The two nominations given to rising Afrobeats act Portable by the “Headies” Academy have been withdrawn, according to the academy.
The news was announced on Headies’ social media outlets on Tuesday, July 26, 2022.
Portable’s recent run-in with the law,
in which he claimed to be the leader of the murderous one million boys gang
that terrorized Lagos residents during the lockdown, was the reason for The “Headies” Academy’s decision.
Recall that Last week, Portable became involved in yet another issue
after bragging online about founding the notorious cult organization Ajah Boys and One Million Boys
Although He returned to deny ever founding the gang,
the interest of the society at large was already piqued by His statements.

Portable has also previously threatened to kill other nominees should he lose either of the two categories he was nominated for.
Furthermore the Headies Academy’s decision to withdraw Portable’s nomination means that he won’t be getting a chance to win the Rookie of the Year and Best Street Hop which he was nominated for.
Meanwhile Portable has replied the “Headies”,
after they removed him from their nomination list, saying that He doesn’t regret His actions
In a video he shared of himself and his wife all loved up, Portable stated that singing is all he does for a living. He said he is blessed as he’s got cars, a house, children, fans, among other things.
He also stated that most artistes pay to get awards as well, Hence He isn’t fazed by what Headies did
