The United States of America is handling free COVID-19 rapid tests to households, up to four per house. Here’s how to take advantage of this incentive and get tested today. Amidst the rising Omicron variant spreading in the United States, the government has created a website where citizens can request free rapid tests.
This do it yourself test is a better alternative to the long queues and long hours waiting for results experienced at drive-throughs and hospitals. The best deal is still entirely free and will be delivered straight to your home.
The United States COVID site allows users to order four free rapid tests per month for each household. Simply visit
- COVIDTests.gov
- Click on the “Order Free At-Home Tests” button
- If you can’t access the site or see the “Order” button, you can visit the USPS site special.usps.com/testkits to order from there.
- Input your name, email address if you would like to receive notifications and finally your shipping address.
- When you are done, click on the “Check Out Now ” button and you are good to go.

There is no request for credit card details or any personal or financial information. The rapid kits will supposedly ship within 7-12 days towards the end of the month. The COVID site is getting increasingly popular and may experience some intense traffic.
The government says there will be a helpline just in case users are experiencing difficulty accessing the site. Although this number isn’t out yet, be on the lookout for it. An impending challenge facing users will be others living in a building or condo. Other residents might have used the same address, causing the website to deny others the rapid test.
There’s a solution to this problem, as users can add their apartment number on the same street as the street address. Also, adding an apartment number on the second address line or “suite”/ “apartment” would do the trick.
