How Dell Technologies Is Building The Most Sustainable Commercial PCs

“We look for every opportunity to embed sustainable practices across our portfolio. From the materials in our products and packaging to the strength and integrity of our supply chain” Dell Technologies says “[we design] our devices with the entire lifecycle in mind.”

This opening statement explains briefly, how one of the leaders in the PC industry is making sustainable devices. It further reveals that it is making PCs that need fewer resources and uses more recycled and renewable materials. “We strive to take back as much as we produce,” the company says.

This is why about 65% of Dell Technologies devices in recent years are made with post-consumer recycled material. Also, on the sustainability front, it makes devices from resources ‘in a way designed to protect the planet’.

Additionally, the PC maker focuses on bio-based technologies when it designs product packaging, For example, to reduce environmental pollution, Dell Technologies use ocean-bound plastics. It also uses recycled cardboard, molded paper pulp and so on to reduce energy and water consumption. This has made the company the first PC maker to make packaging from renewably sourced bamboo.

It is not enough that Dell does this in-house. It also extends this policy to its whole supply chain. The company says that it insists that the people who make its devices do so in ethical environments. It also urges that its several suppliers help to reduce their environmental footprints as well.

Dell Technologies continues to lead the way in protecting the environment while supplying customers with high-end devices.
