Popular Nollywood Yoruba actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka better known as Baba Ijesha has been arrested by the Lagos Police Command for defiling a 14-year-old minor. 
The actor, 48 confessed to having been defiling the girl since age 7.
In a statement on April 22nd, the police annouced they’d arrested Baba Ijesha after the victim had filed a report.
“The Lagos State Police Command has arrested one Olarenwaju James ‘m’ 48, aka Baba Ijesha, popular Nollywood actor for defiling a minor. The case of defilement was reported on 19th April, 2021,” the statement read in part.

The report revealed that upon investigation, it was discovered that the actor has been defiling the minor since she was seven years old.
The suspect confessed to the crime and was also captured by a CCTV camera in the house of the complainant.
The Commissioner of Police,Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered for proper investigation as he promised to do justice in the matter.

How CCTV facilitated his arrest
According to sources, the victims’ mother had installed the CCTV cameras in her house. This was after suspecting someone was s*xually molesting her daughter
PUNCH Metro reports she monitored the situation while at work through her phone. The mother however became even suspicious of Baba Ijesha after she saw Baba Ijesha conducting himself in a suspicious manner around the minor.
The actor reportedly took the daughter into the kitchen away from the cameras to carry out the dastardly act. The mother, upon noticing through the cameras rushed home and went to the kitchen. There, she caught the actor midway through defiling her daughter.
She immediately reported the case and has been inconsolable since then.
Meanwhile, the actor’s representatives are yet to comment on his arrest.
