Hp is releasing two new Chrome OS computers for its consumer lineup. The Chromebase AIO and the Chromebook x2 11.
The Chromebase AiO is an all-in-one desktop computer that seems to borrow design languages from the Apple iMac. A major difference is HP’s desktop has a rotating screen that goes from landscape to portrait.
Hp’s other Chromebook is the x2 11, a detachable like Microsoft’s Surface tablets that quickly shift from laptop to tablet mode. The Chromebook x2 11 has an 11-inch screen, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7c processor, magnetic keyboard, and kickstand.
Its 3:2 aspect ratio has 2160 by 1440 resolution, embedded in an aluminum frame body. HP managed to squeeze in two USB-C ports, a microSD card reader, and an integrated fingerprint reader on the power button.
The detachable tablet is available only in 64GB or 128GB of storage with 8GB of RAM. LTE connectivity is optional on these Chrome tablets, with a lower 4GB of RAM with the same storage options above.
Unlike Microsoft, HP includes a wireless magnetic pen in the Box, although it misses out on a Headphone jack. According to HP, this tablet has about 11 hours of battery life when fully charged.

The look-alike iMac, Chromebase AiO is also made of aluminum. A first for a Chrome OS desktop, with 1920 by 1080 resolution. The 21.5-inch touchscreen is available with Intel’s Pentium Gold processor or a higher 10th Gen Core i3 chip.
The lower Pentium processor has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of eMMC storage. Also available in 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD for the higher models.
Aesthetically, HP’s conical base of the Chromebase AiO has all its ports neatly tucked in at the back. There are two USB-C and USB-A ports, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and dual 5.watt speakers.
Included in the Chromebase AiO Box is a wireless mouse and keyboard, yeah I’m looking at you Apple. All of this is available for $600 for its base configuration and higher.
Meanwhile, Hp’s other Chromebook x2 11 also costs $600 for its base configuration and higher.
