Huawei is facing serious chip challenges, even the US sanctions hurt more. The company didn’t even make it to the Top 5 smartphone sellers in the second quarter of the year.
Yu is optimistic though, in his translated speech he mentions that this P50 flagship smartphone is a “new era of mobile imaging”. This means Huawei is focusing a lot on its cameras for the flagship.
Despite the US ban, Huawei has been able to design its own operating system, the Harmony Os which powers its devices after the ban.
After the US ban, the company’s market price has reduced.
Due to the fact that it no longer has access to Google’s apps and the play store. Hence its own store and applications, custom-built for its own devices.
