Nigerian Oluwafemi Oladapo, aka Slimcase, has revealed that he is actually a shy person who always wants his own space contrary to the notion that he is an extrovert.
In an interview with Sunday Scoop, Slimcase revealed that he is the actual opposite of what people think about him
“I am the opposite of what people see out there. That is why I call myself Slimcase. Basically, I am not who many people think I am. Am a very shy and reserved person that loves to read a lot. I love music too and I like being in my own space. I prefer to be left alone.”
In the interview, the “Azaman” crooner spoke about “The Slimcase Show”, on which he usually features budding rappers on his social media pages.
“Last year, I was showcasing girls and dirty things on Instagram. But, that wasn’t what I wanted to be remembered for because of its negative impact on the youth. I then decided to do something right for my people. I love hip-hop a lot and I actually used to be a rapper but because Nigerians don’t appreciate rap songs, I decided to do commercial music. Since I had used my platform for the wrong things, I decided it was time to use it for the right thing. That was when I started the rap show and it escalated. Presently, it’s clearing the memories of the bad things I had done. Now, I have a good platform for the youth and reputable brands are coming in.”

The singer, who uses a lot of slang in his songs, noted that he sometimes goes to the streets to get them.
“Sometimes, I go to the streets but sometimes, I sit down and write them down. It is about me trying to explain myself with my music.”
The self-acclaimed Otunba Lamba also noted that he usually got inspiration from everything around him.
“It is what I see every day that inspires my writing. These are normal things on the street. The platform I have has exposed me to bigger names that ordinarily don’t know what is happening on the street. They question the use of those words but they have been on the streets for a long time. Basically, I am trying to give the rich an idea of what is happening on the streets. The rich will always criticise it but the streets know it is a reality.”
