Veteran Nollywood actor Anayo Modestus Onyekwere aka Kanayo. O. Kanayo recently clocked 60.

The actor while celebrating his birthday took to his Twitter page to reminisce on his grace to grass story and how God has blessed him.

In his Tweet, the actor turned lawyer recalled how he had to sell locally prepared meal Akamu and Agidi in order to make ends meet.

“The young boy From Oboama Ezinihitte Mbaise that went to Enugu to school, sold akamu and agidi to survive is now 60. Things only God can do. #KOKat60 #CelebratingKOKat60” he tweeted.

Anayo Modestus Onyekwere was born on March 1, 1962, in Mbaise, Imo State.

Kanayo In 1992 made his debut movie appearance in the film “Living in Bondage”. In 2006 he won the African Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in the movie “Family Battle”

Kanayo has starred in over 100 films. He was nominated in 2008 for the African Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in the movie “Across the Niger”. His most recent movies are “Up North” and “Living in Bondage: Breaking Free”.
