Iconic American Singer Meat Loaf Dies At 74

Iconic American singer Meat Loaf who sold over 100 million copies of his albums “Bat out of Hell” has died at the age of 74.

His family confirmed the news of his passing on January 21, 2022, via an official Facebook post.

“Our hearts are broken to announce that the incomparable Meat Loaf passed away tonight with his wife Deborah by his side,” a message read.

The Bat Out of Hell star died with his wife by his side.

“Daughters Pearl and Amanda and close friends have been with him throughout the last 24 hours,” his family continued.

“We know how much he meant to so many of you and we truly appreciate all of the love and support as we move through this time of grief in losing such an inspiring artist and beautiful man,” his family added.

The singer, born in Dallas real name is Marvin Lee Aday. He is best known for his “Bat Out Of Hell” trilogy, which sold 100 million copies across the globe.

The singer released another set of albums between the 70s and 80s. The most successful of these albums were “Dead Ringer” and “Midnight At The Lost And Found.”

His 90s smash hit song ” I’d Do Anything For Love (But I Won’t Do That)” became the UK’s best-selling single of 1993 and won him a Grammy Award.

Meat Loaf also conquered the screen as he did the stage. He played Eddie in the 1975 musical film “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”. took the role of a was bouncer Tiny in 1992’s “Wayne’s World,” and also starred alongside one of Hollywood’s best Brad Pitt as bodybuilder Robert Paulsen in 1999’s “Fight Club”.

His album “Best out of Hell” remains one of the top 10 of the world’s best selling albums of all time, sharing the iconic achievement with the likes of Micheal Jackson, Whitney Houston and Eagles.
