Actor Idris Elba asked now-fiancee Sabrina Dhowre the big question last year. He made the proposal during a private screening for Yardie, a film he directed.

During his interview on the Ellen Degeneres Show, he revealed to her how nervous he felt before asking the question. The actor also said he’d had the ring for a while, about two days before valentine, and it felt like the ring was “burning a hole” in this pocket.

“It was the most nerve-wracking thing for me ever,” Elba said.

Idris Elba told Ellen how he hadn’t planned on proposing the day he did, as he wanted to do it on Valentines. However, Sabrina had to fly out that day. So, he had dropped on his knees to ask her the big question during the screening of Yardie. He explained how she had been there during the shoot and knew almost everybody.
