Grocery delivery service, Instacart is taking advantage of the increase in demand for its services to unveil new ordering options. This is aimed at unlocking more delivery windows.

As millions stay at home to curtail the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, home delivery service becomes more important.

Thus, Instacart is introducing “Fast & Flexible” and “Order Ahead” options to its app, in order to prioritize its customer orders.

These features will improve Instacart flexibility in delivery to its customers. It will also provide more convenience and decrease disappointments for customers who are resorting to shopping for groceries online.

The “Fast & Flexible feature allows Instacart to deliver within a window. Instead of picking a specific time slot for their delivery, customers are to choose from a range of delivery dates. Instacart will after that, match the customers’ order with the first available delivery time.

This ensures Instacart can push back delivery depending on demand without angering its customers as they have chosen different convenient dates.
