Intel Officially Announces Its 11th Generation Tiger Lake Processors

We are in the age of faster processing speeds for devices and Intel, a market leader in the laptop chipset space, has just announced its 11th generation Tiger Lake processors.

Intel touts the new chip as the ‘world’s best processor for thin-and-light laptops’. In its press release, the company highlights that it comes with the unique Xe graphics and is 2.7 times faster than the 10th generation Intel processors.

The 11th generation processors, codenamed Tiger Lake, brings unmatched productivity, collaboration, creation, gaming and entertainment. It appears that they are basically designed for ‘Windows and ChromeOS-based laptops’ as the company says.

Some of the specifications of the Intel Tiger Lake processors include the company’s trademark SuperFin process technology. This optimises power efficiency with leading performance and responsiveness while running at significantly higher frequencies than older generations.

Intel adds, “more than 150 designs based on 11th Gen Intel Core processors are expected from partners including Acer, Asus, Dell, Dynabook, HP, Lenovo, LG, MSI, Razer, Samsung and others.”

In addition, it introduced the Intel Evo platform brand for laptop designs. Intel executive Vice President and general manager of the Client Computing Group, Gregory Bryant said, “11th Gen Intel Core processors with Intel Iris Xe graphics are a major leap forward in real-world processor performance and are the best laptop processors we have built.

“From productivity and content creation to entertainment and gaming, when you pick a system powered by 11th Gen Intel Core – especially one of our new Intel Evo co-engineered and verified designs – you know you are getting the best laptop experience possible.”

The company further reveals that only laptops that meet its key experience indicators will have the Intel Evo badges. These laptops must meet targets such as:

— Consistent responsiveness on battery

— System wake from sleep in less than 1 second

— Nine or more hours of real-world battery life on systems with FHD displays

— Fast charging with up to a four-hour charge in under 30 minutes on systems with FHD displays

Lenovo already has a laptop that is coming with the Intel 11th generation Tiger Lake processor in November 2020. You should expect rich collaboration, leadership productivity performance, advanced content creation, immersive entertainment, new gaming experiences and better graphics.
