Intel has released its Arc graphics card, to rival NVIDIA and others for high-end gaming. This is the company’s first discrete gaming graphics card. The company also aims to rival AMD, the ARC is the codename to Intel’s DG1 graphics card. This might happen at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) event in January 2022.
The discrete graphics card will be called Intel Xe-HPG DG2 according to a statement from Intel’s website. Recent launch date from a hardware account on Weibo and a tweet from @9550pro may have confirmed the actual timeframe.
This graphics card is Intel’s chance to hold ground in the graphics card market. The chip company has been teasing the release of this graphics card for a long now.
Intel made a statement on the Odyssey Cardholder website inviting early engagers to redeem their cards in time for the launch of the Xe HPG microarchitecture from Intel. At the International Supercomputing (ISC) 2021 event, Intel says that the DG2 lineup of cards has been sampled. We can expect this graphics card to be released in mobile and desktop versions.

An Intel graphics card will end the duopoly of Nvidia and AMD discrete graphics cards. Intel’s only discrete graphics card before this was the DG1.
This budget discrete graphics card wasn’t designed for gaming, but the new Xe-HPG DG2 card has the potential to change that. And at least compete with the likes of AMD and Nvidia at the entry-level discrete gaming cards category.
Although Intel hasn’t confirmed any of this news, 2022 looks to be a fantastic year for gaming and electronics.
Chips and gaming companies are pushing their limits to release next-gen inventory, even TV companies are no left behind.
The current global chip storage might hurt Intel plans for its new graphics card. Intel needs to sort out supply to push out its product, and compete against the likes of Nvidia.
