All iPhones equipped with iOS 15 have the power to put you into the most relaxing sleep mode with their inbuilt white noise feature. Here is how to use it.
First, if you don’t know about white noise, you are in for a totally different kind of relaxation after reading this article.
A white noise is a random signal having equal intensity at different frequencies, giving it a constant power spectral density. While this sounds all science-ish, it is the most basic explanation I could find.
However, to get better understanding, it is described as a continuous kind of sound without pattern or rhythm. For example, the kind of sound an air conditioner makes, falling rain, stream of water, hiss of an empty radio channel, and so on.

Listening to these kinds of sounds at lowered volume has a soothing effect on people. It is why some even have white noise machines but with an iPhone running on iOS 15, you don’t need to buy such equipment.
How to set up white noise on iPhone (iOS 15)
1. Go to your device “Settings” and tap on “Accessibility,” and then, select “Audio/Visual” (under “Hearing”).
2. Next, tap on “Background Sounds” and select what option you want by tapping on “Sound.” You can pick options like Balanced noise, Bright noise, Dark noise, Ocean, Rain, and Stream.
3. Adjust the volume of only the Background Sounds from its menu page. This way, it won’t affect the sound of other phone audio functions.
Additionally, you can set the Background Sounds to continue playing while the screen is locked and while playing other media on your iPhone.
