LG’s latest technology OLED Tv could roll side sideways, instead of upwards. These futuristic TVs are so cool and head-turning.
Earlier this month, the South Korean company had a patent from the World Intellectual Property Organisation for a new style of rollable OLED, a TV that rolls horizontally instead of vertically.
This latest technology looks quirky, just like its OLED R TVs that have a sci-fi look but now made into reality.
LG is seriously investing in OLED technology, the acronym “OLED” means Organic Light-Emitting Diode. The light made in OLED screen is produced by organic molecules.
The pixels in these OLED screens lit up themselves, unlike LCD TVs where light comes from a backlighting unit.

OLED screens are relatively new, and because of that, they are relatively expensive. LG is currently leading the OLED market with its numerous high-end OLED TVs.
Samsung isn’t so far behind LG, Samsung has OLED TVs and small OLED screens it manufactures for its own mobile devices and other big brands like Apple.
For this latest generation tv, there is no concrete time this horizontal tv will be launched. It might take a year or more, LG’s current rollable TVs cost around $86,000 and maxed out at 65 inches.
But for this concept of horizontal rollable TV, pricing will be tough to determine. Since this latest technology is relatively new, it is bound to be costly during the first years, probably over $100,000.
LG’s target market will be major enterprises and businesses, displaying their products and services. It will take a lot of cash for families and individuals to obtain this latest technology TV.
