On Friday, March 18th. Nollywood actress Annie Idibia disclosed she renewed her marital vows with husband 2Baba.
The mother of two dropped snippets from Netflix’s series “Young, Famous & African” so fans can head to the streaming platform to watch the series.
Well, if you are were troubled about Annie’s outburst about her marriage on social media last year, then watching this series will make you understand her marital frustrations.
First if the show wasn’t scripted how is that Annie started opening up about marital woes to Andile Ncube in episode 2 even though she never met him before.
Then there is the fight between her and Zari where she stresses that the latter isn’t her husband ‘s spec. She goes as far as describing the physical attributes of the type of woman her husband fancies.
No marriage is perfect, but it appears that Annie has been in a marriage characterised by cheating and disrespect while burdened with the role acting as the good wife for social media.

As Khanyi Mbau’s puts it, Annie Idibia is the typical example of the real African woman who wants to keep her home. In the show she shows her vulnerability. She isn’t afraid to show that she loves her husband deeply in a way that some people may term unhealthy.
In episode 7, she tells him to promise her that the next 10 years of their marriage will be “cheating free” as they proceed with their vow renewals.
“Another 10 to be faithful, no cheating” she says. How do you remind your husband to be faithful?. Shouldn’t fidelity should come with marriage?, it should be non-negotiable.
Well, the show had some fun moments outside it exposing the flaws of their marriage. There is the fun moment when 2Baba surprises her on their 10th anniversary. He travels all the way to south Africa to take Annie to a romantic dinner where he re-proposes to her.
2Baba also composes a song for her on their wedding renewal day. It was so beautiful to watch. These two love birds may have a lot going on in their marriage, however they are committed to making it work.
