Innovative ideas are being patented from the stables of the South Korean electronics company, LG. They have decided to patent two new phones that may likely make a significant impact. The first one is a phone that appears not to have any physical buttons at all. Although no mainstream phone has this concept, it is not entirely new. The Meizu Zero phone had a similar idea for their smartphone.
Getting rid of buttons in a phone would mean leaving the phone with more internal space. This space can be used to make the phone thinner and smaller. It could also mean that the phone will have an improved appearance. However, we are yet to know its user-friendliness.
Another idea being patented is the camera design. LG appears to be making a rear camera with four lenses. This is also not new as Samsung and Nokia already have quad-lens camera phones. LG is however not leaving it at that, the screen also looks to be almost bezel-free.
New LG Phones
Just like you will see in Samsung and Apple’s new generation phones. The screen has bars around it, instead, it has a small notch where the single-lens camera is. Since the phone would have no buttons or any visible fingerprint scanner, it seems like this would be built into the phone screen.
LG also patents a phone with a single-lens rear camera that has a ring around it. There are speculations that this ring could be some sort of a zoom lens. There is also a button near the bottom of the phone that reports suggest could be a shutter key because of where it is.
Meanwhile, all of these are only just speculations. It is not yet certain if these patents will be made into actual phones and when that may happen.
