“Thunder Fire You” a song from Ric Hassani’s latest album “The Prince I Became” has been banned by the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission.
Hassani, who broke the news in a post on his Twitter page on Friday 26th February said the commission is also sanctioning radio stations that are airing the song. He, however, did not provide details on the circumstances that led to the ban.
“So, the NBC has banned my song ‘Thunder Fire You’ and are fining radio stations that play it. Interesting,” he wrote

“The Prince I Became”, Ric Hassani’s second studio album is a 17-track body of work. It was released on Friday 26th February, and comes after his 2016 album “The African Gentleman”.
The project includes collaborative tracks with the likes of Nicky Jam, Sauti Sol, Zoro, Frank Edwards among others.
At the 2016 edition of the All Africa Music Awards, Hassani was nominated in three categories. He also received two nominations at The Headies 2016, including Best Alternative Song for his track “Gentleman”.
In December 2018, his Falz and Olamide-assisted “Believe” won Best Collaboration at the Galaxy Music Awards.

Just yesterday the singer announced the demise of his father on his Twitter handle. Ric Hassani revealed his father died a week ago. The “Thunder fire you” crooner also thanked his father for a track on the album titled “Korede” which he stated had his vocals.
