British rock band Coldplay recently released a single titled “Arabesque” featuring Nigerian afrobeat legend Femi Kuti. The song also features Belgian-Rwandan pop star Stromae. “Arabesque” is a single off Coldplay’s forthcoming project, “Everyday Life”.

The forthcoming album, highly anticipated by Coldplay fans, will be a double album. It splits into two halves, Sunrise and Sunset with “Arabesque” being a part of the Sunrise half of the album.

Coldplay ill release “Everyday Life” on 22nd November 2019 via Parlophone/Atlantic.

“Arabesque” is an expansive composition built on what sounds like North African-inspired guitars and rhythms. It calls to mind the likes of Bombino and Tinariwen. The song then sees Stromae delivering a verse in French.

Femi Kuti comes in around the 2-minute mark with a solid and extensive saxophone solo. The song also notably features a sample of Fela Kuti’s famous quote, “Music is the weapon of the future.”
